In the wake of an abysmal performance that culminated in the end of a two year bronze medal winning streak at the Sprite Ball Championship earlier this year, Mfantseman Girls Senior High School’s Basketball Team has effected all the necessary corrections according to Team Coach Ernest Koomson.
The trainer made the statement in an interview with Basketballghana.com ahead of the Central Regional Championship which is set to take place on Tuesday, November 29 in Cape-Coast with schools set to battle it out for spots at the next edition of Sprite Ball. He said:
“Following a sloppy performance at the Sprite Ball competition held earlier this year, I had to fix some few things and build a whole team”. The changes, he believes will make a difference.
‘”We are going to make a huge statement to all other schools in the country already qualified for the coming Sprite Ball competition 10th edition. This will be done at the competition coming up.”
Failure to progress from the group stage at the 2016 Sprite Ball ended Mfantseman’s two straight third place finishes at the annual tournament. The side will come up against national champions Aggrey Memorial Mount Zion School.
