Mfantsiman Girls Senior High School’s Basketball Team is fully prepared for the upcoming Central Region Basketball Championship in Cape-Coast on Tuesday, November 29 according to Team Coach Ernest Koomson.
The young and tactically astute trainer made the statement when speaking to Basketballghana.com ahead of the annual championship in the region’s capital where he also elaborated on the main areas of preparation for the tournament.
“We are fully prepared for the upcoming Sprite Ball qualification tournament-Central Region. I have built a whole new team with tactical discipline and high determination…I had to fix a few things and build a whole new team” he said.
A two time bronze medalist, Mfantsiman Girls endured a bad tournament at the 2016 edition of the National Championship-Sprite Ball Championship after crushing out of the preliminary round. Ghana’s Central region boasts both female and male Champions in Aggrey Memorial Mount Zion Senior High School and St. Augustine’s College respectively.
Qualified teams will represent the region at the main championship set to take place in January,2017.
The region also boasts of former winners Mfantsipim School and Wesley Girls Senior High School and a deep wealth of strong contenders including Adisadel College and Holy Child College.
