In a shock move, Ghana Forward Ben Bentil has been named in Greek side Peristeri GS Athens roster for the upcoming season Basketballghana.com can confirm.
The former Boston Celtics draftee got an invitation to join NBA side Milwaukee Bucks Training Camp recently giving him another opportunity to play in the NBA.
Bentil became the first Ghana born player to play an NBA game after a short cameo with Dallas Mavericks in three games.
However, the former Providence College standout is moving back to Europe where he concluded his second professional year.
The 6 foot 9 inch player played for French side Chalons Reims and Spanish side Bilbao Basket; Reims survived relegation but Bilbao did not.
Peristeri GS Athens did not participate in the Greek playoffs last season and is scheduled to play AEK Athens in a local derby in this season’s opening game on October 6.
Peristeri GS Athens played in the lower division but was the first to seal qualification to the premier division.
Bentil was drafted 51st overall in the 2016 NBA Draft.
