Ghana’s Ben Bentil is on his way to the CBA (China Basketball Association) after cutting ties with Fort Wayne Mad Ants in the NBA Development League just days after playing in his game against Greensboro Swarm.

In the November 12 game, Bentil scored 27 points and 10 rebounds to power Ants to a 120-99 win over Swarm. His exit was confirmed by Ants Coach Steve Gansey when speaking to journalgazzatte.net.

“Well, (Bentil) got a lucrative deal overseas and there’s an opportunity for him to come back. So that’s what the plan is – for him to come back. When that is, I’m not 100 percent sure. But that’s the plan”.

Ants was set to play Development League Champions Sioux Falls at the time of Bentil’s departure. The 6 foot 9 inch Forward made history when he became Ghana’s first native to be drafted into the NBA. He was drafted 51st in June this year by Boston Celtics but was cut from the roster before getting signed by Indiana Pacers.

Mere hours later, he was assigned to Pacers Development League affiliate side Fort Wayne Mad Ants. His CBA side is yet to be known.
