University of Connecticut (UCONN) and Ghana Center Amida Brimah has made an encouraging start to the season with a string of impressive performances including a nine point, 10 rebound and four blocks production in a 65-62 win over Loyola Marymount.
The 6 foot 11 inch defensive lynchpin looks to be on his way to having a bounce back year averaging 6 points, 7.3 rebounds and 4.3 blocks in three games this season. Brimah’s production regressed in his third year for the Huskies as a finger injury saw him average 4.6 rebounds and 2.7 blocks.
A great season is what the 22 year old needs to be a strong candidate for next year’s draft. Despite the encouraging start, the win over Marymount was UCONN’s first of the season. The side fell to Wagner and Northeastern.
The side plays Oklahoma State University on Tuesday, November 22.
