Desert Rabbits have extended its winning run in the Global Sporting Platforms (GSP) Basketball League by beating Barracks Scorpions 59-33 at the Sunyani Polytechnic Court in a shock win for the side on the final day of the first half of the 2016 season.
By beating Scorpions, Rabbits continued its strong finish to the season with the impressive win to top Week 6 28-21 win over West Siders at the Eusbett Hotel Court. Thanks to its two game winning streak, Rabbits can expect to move up the standings from the sixth position it occupied prior to Week 7.
For Scorpions, the result is a drawback on what had been a return to form and second place in the standings following a closely fought 40-38 win over Catholic University College, Ghana (CUCG) Saints in the sixth week.
Suncity Braves ends the round on top of the standings unbeaten in seven game played with a 49-42 win over host Sunyani Polytechnic to maintain a perfect record. In other results, West Siders beat University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) 29-25 and CUCG Saints beat LIR Royals 28-20.
