Barracks Scorpions sit in second place in the GSP Basketball League following a close 40-38 win over Catholic University College, Ghana (CUCG) Saints over the weekend at the Eusbett Hotel in Sunyani. The side led the standings prior but a series of losses meant the side slipped to fourth behind Saints and West Siders.
Suncity Braves maintain its lead at the summit of the standings with a perfect record albeit with a default win over University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) on opening day. The defending champions registered a 20 point win by beating LIR Royals 39-19. The result further condemns the league’s bottom ranked side to last place.
Third placed UENR was the biggest mover of the round as the side moved from the lower half of the standings following 25-6 shellacking of Sunyani Polytechnic. The latter team tumbles down the perking order to find itself just a spot above LIR Royals.
