Desert Rabbits headlined Week 6 games played in the GSP Basketball League at the Eusbett Hotel Court in Ghana’s Brong-Ahafo regional capital, Sunyani, by beating second placed West Siders 28-21. The win is the side’s second of the season following consistent losses in the season.

In the relatively unfamiliar surroundings of the Eusbett Court, the Rabbits surprisingly hopped straight into action with a blistering 15-4 first quarter lead and maintained it’s lead in the second to ward off West Siders three point lead in the third and fourth quarters respectively.

The Court which was only added to the list of venues to host league games, has seen similar low scoring games recorded as players have had difficulties adjusting. Week 2 games were hosted at the venue and low scoring results run through.

Sunyani Polytechnic’s Court was originally set to host the games but were moved to accommodate renovation works at the Polytechnic’s Court.

In other results defending champions and league leaders Suncity Braves beat bottom side LIR Royals 39-19, CUCG (Catholic University College, Ghana) Saints lost 38-40 to Barracks Scorpions before UENR (University of Energy and Natural Resources) delivered a knockout 25-6 performance over Sunyani Polytechnic.
