Week 6 of the Global Sporting Platforms (GSP) Basketball League will be headlined this weekend by Sunyani Polytechnic’s matchup against University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) in the final game of the round.
All games in the round will take place at the Sunyani Polytechnic Court with league leaders Suncity Braves matchup against bottom ranked LIR Royals, tipping off proceedings at 8 am. It will be followed by games between Desert Rabbits and West Siders and CUCG (Catholic University College, Ghana) Saints and Barracks Scorpions.
However, fans of the home team will have to wait a bit longer to see its side in action as it takes on tertiary rival UENR. Heading into the fixture, Sunyani Polytechnic is in dire need of a win after recording bad results in recent outings.
UENR’s poor start to the season including a no show on the opening day of competition, has given way to a sharp improvement in form that has seen the side record impressive 65-27 and 49-20 win over LIR Royals respectively.
Sunyani Poly’s form has plummeted after back to back losses against West Siders and LIR Royals. Curiously, both teams are in the bottom half of the standings with UENR sitting in fifth place with Sunyani following close behind in sixth.
