Nungua Coldstore Shooting Guard Emmanuel Wolff has described his side’s title win in the Tema Community Basketball League over the weekend as “amazing”. Coldstore beat close rival Ashaiman Lions 69-59 in Game Two of the league final to clinch the title at the Community 4 Basketball Court.

Speaking to Basketballghana.com, the sharp shooter, who contributed to Nungua’s strong finish late in the fourth quarter was delighted with the win but was conscious of his teammates contribution in making it possible. He said:

“It feels amazing. Great group of guys, we put our heart in, played our best and came out with a win so it feels amazing…I have been blessed to be around a bunch of great players so it’s not just like am doing the work, it’s like a team effort”.

Nungua almost blew an 18 point (37-19) lead at halftime as Lions fought back to trail by a point midway through the third quarter. However, the team settled to see out the game and clinch the win.

By sweeping Ashaiman in the best of three series, Nungua extended the winning run over its fierce nemesis following a 47-37 win in the postseason curtain raiser, “Basketball Battle Tournament”. The latest chapter in the brewing rivalry will take place on Sunday November 6 in the Ebi Bright Tournament.

Teammate Kwame Boamah Djan was named the league’s Most Valuable Player.
