Basketballghana.com can confirm the Ebi Bright Basketball Tournament will take place on Sunday November 6 at the Tema Community 4 Basketball Court with the official tipoff time set at 10 am.
The one day tournament which will feature four teams is funded by aspiring National Democratic Congress parliamentary candidate for Tema Central Constituency, Ebi Bright. Ashaiman Lions, Nungua Coldstore, Flashlights of Tema New Town and Tema Central have been selected to compete in the tournament.
Funding the tournament forms part of the prospective Member of Parliament’s initiative to aid young individuals in the constituency and neighboring areas, channel their ideas and energy into profitable ventures such as sports with specific reference to basketball.
Ever a leader on women and child related issues, two female teams have been invited to play in the competition.
Bright, is also responsible for renovating the lighting system at the venue popularly known as “Chinese Court” which made it possible for Tema’s Community Basketball League final between Nungua Coldstore and Ashaiman Lions take place hours after the sun had set.
Nungua beat Ashaiman 69-59 to emerge champions of the fledgling league and will renew hostilities with its strong rivals on Sunday.
