Suncity Braves have beaten Barracks Scorpions 45-30 to maintain its lead on top of GSP Basketball League’s standing at the Sunyani Polytechnic Basketball Court in Week 5’s standout tie.
The former was billed to play Catholic University College, Ghana (CUCG) Saints but a late decision meant a change in opponent.
The win is the latest in a string of 15 point victories the defending champions have registered in the ongoing league. In Week Four, Braves beat Desert Rabbits with the same score listed above on its way to the league’s summit.
For the once unbeaten Barracks Scorpions side, the loss is the second in as many weeks.
In other results, Catholic University College, Ghana (CUCG) Saints recovered from two straight defeats to beat Desert Rabbits 44-29 after West Siders beat home side Sunyani Polytechnic 26-23 to silence the partisan crowd.
Sunyani Poly has now lost two in a row after falling by a point (29-30) to lowly ranked LIR Royals.
University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) inflicted a 49-20 defeat on Royals only a week after eking out a win over the much fancied Sunyani Poly side.
