Ahead of the crucial Game 2 between Community 12 and Flashlights of Tema New Town in the ongoing Tema Community Basketball League postseason, Flashlights Guard Kingsley Quist has declared there wouldn’t be a Game Three because his side will win the upcoming matchup.
The teams will square off again in a fight for third place in the league’s maiden edition at the Community 4 Basketball Court on Sunday October 30. Flashlights beat Community 12 39-33 in the first game after trailing for most parts of the tie.
Speaking to Basketballghana.com after Game One’s win Quist stated his desire to finish off the series as early as possible.
“Sure we will (win), there wouldn’t be a Game Three” he said before disagreeing with the assertions of Community 12 Coach Emmanuel Partey who credited New Town’s win to its immense rebounding.
“No. I don’t even think we rebounded that much. I think there were a lot of offensive rebounds that they caught that we allowed them to catch but I think we are a shooting team”.
Ashaiman Lions and Nungua Coldstore will have another go at each other for the chance to lift the league title. Nungua leads the series following a 48-39 win over Ashaiman.
