Week Four of the GSP League produced a few shock results that altered the Sunyani-based league standing. For starters, league leaders Barracks Scorpions got knocked off the top spot following a heavy 29-65 loss to University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR).
The loss forced Scorpions slip to second place and replaced by defending champions Suncity Braves who beat Desert Rabbits 45-30.
LIR Royals beat home side Sunyani Polytechnic 30-29 in a shock result that resonated through the round. However, the result wasn’t enough to see Royals move up the standings as the side heads into Week Five bottom in the ranks.
Unfortunately for Royals, results in other games involving West Siders halted LIR’s march up the standings: West Siders beat Catholic University College, Ghana (CUCG) Saints 25-22. The side will face Week Four biggest winners UENR in the upcoming round of games.
Below is a summary of results in Week 4:
Sunyani Polytechnic 29-30 LIR Royals
CUCG Saints 22-25 West Siders
UENR 65-29 Barracks Scorpions
Suncity Braves 45-30 Desert Rabbits
