Coldstore’s Borsah goes up to challenge a shot.

Nungua Coldstore delivered a stunning display in the second half to beat staunch rival Ashaiman Lions 49-38 in Game One of the Tema Community Basketball League Final at the Community 4 Basketball Court.

The game, which was a repeat of the postseason curtain raiser “Basketball Battle” Tournament, started off with Lions taking a 15-13 lead in the first quarter with Lions Shooting Guard Elvis Pobi-Siaw delivering converting three point attempts to lead the charge.

Coldstore opened the game a bit flustered and Lions capitalized on it to extend its lead to five (27-22) at half time. Lions Center Abdul Bashiru and Forward John Teye Okumoh made key plays during the spell.

Veteran Forward Enoch Borsah’s three point shot got Nungua going in the second half culminating in a sequence that personified Coldstore’s improved concentration and desire.

Versatile Forward and Most valuable Player of the Year contender, Kofi Agyei, sprinted back on defense to deliver a timely block after a turnover.

Emmanuel Wolff led the fastbreak and delivered a timely pass for the onrushing Kwame Boamah Djan to deliver a one handed jam and send fans jumping out of their seats.

Overrun by the pumped up Nungua side, Lions capitulated remaining minutes as Wolff converted a late three point shot after Djan completed a three point play to round up proceedings.

Flashlights of Tema New Town beat Community 12 39-33 to win Game One of the third and fourth place game.
