Week Four of the ongoing GSP Basketball League 2016 season has hit another high note in the wake of shocking results that has marked the round’s enthralling results.
First on the list, University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) swept aside Barracks Scorpions 65-27 in the opening game on the day.
The result was particularly shocking considering the polarizing state of the teams heading into the round as UENR was just a place above bottom ranked side LIR Royals in the standing with Scorpions leading the pack.
However, UENR played well above themselves to utterly annihilate then unbeaten Scorpions to the tune of 65 points in what will cost Barracks a top spot especially after closest rival Suncity Braves continued its winning ways.
The defending champions earned a 15 point win (45-30) over Desert Rabbits to maintain its winning streak this season. For the rabbits, the loss is the second in consecutive fashion after falling 32-37 to UENR.
Bottom ranked side LIR Royals completed a mini shock result against home side Sunyani Polytechnic by piping the latter 30-29.
West Siders recorded a similar result against Catholic University College, Ghana (CUCG) Saints by eking out a 25-22 win over the Saints. Saints, like, Desert Rabbits, slumped to a second defeat in a row.
