Following the completion of the 2016 Accra Basketball League Men’s Division I season, Tema Youth Coach Emmanuel “Rubberman” Quaye has stated the league’s top brass will “make amends” for mistakes committed along the season next year.
The veteran tactician made the statement in an interview with Basketballghana.com following his side’s 52-67 loss to Braves of Customs in the league final over the weekend at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu. When asked for his thoughts on the season gone by he said:
“There were little mistakes which we all saw so we will correct it…We didn’t start earlier, so we make sure, we make amends. We make sure we won’t change it anyhow we like”.
He also passed on the sad news his side will not be able to compete in the upcoming FIBA Zone Three Africa Championship due to take place in Lome, Togo between October 21 and October 30 due to financial constraints.
Braves on the other hand, will compete against representatives from West African countries including Ivory Coast, Mali and Burkina Faso, for the chance to qualify for the make the main Africa Club Championship competition.
Angolan side Petro Atletico is the defending African Champion.
