Days after Tema Youth Head Coach Emmanuel Quaye confirmed his side will not compete in the upcoming FIBA Zone Three Africa Championship due to financial shortcomings, Basketballghana.com gathers Braves of Customs Female side will not compete in the tournament’s female division.

The side recently won the Accra Basketball League Women’s Division after winning all games in the season with a talented side that featured 2016 Ghana Basketball Awards Overall and Tertiary Most Valuable Player of the Year Matilda Gordon.

However, the side will not compete in the championship as scant resources have forced the team to miss out. Representatives from West African countries including Nigeria, Mali and Ivory Coast will compete at the tournament alongside the male division.

The Male side will however, make the trip to Lome, Togo to compete between October 21 and October 30 after winning the male version of the Accra League over the weekend by beating Tema Youth 67-52 in the final game.

10,000 Dollars was the amount needed by Tema to compete at the tourney Coach Quaye stated in an interview with Ghana’s leading hoops portal, Basketballghana.com.
