Ahead of the FIBA Zone Three Africa Championship, Braves of Customs Head Coach Lawal Brimah has issued a strong statement saying his side is “always prepared” to compete and he is very sure they will perform well at the competition.
Speaking to Basketballghana.com after guiding Braves to an impressive 67-52 win over bitter rival Tema Youth in the Accra Basketball League Men’s Division I finals, Braves long tenured tactical mastermind was adamant his side is in a perfect position to make the roster for the main championship.
“We are always prepared but in the past weeks we have been having some breaks in our training…We will use this game (against Tema) to beef up our team. When we go this time, I am very sure by next year we will get to the championship I am very sure” he said.
The two time Ghana Basketball Awards Coach of the Year will lead Braves to represent Ghana in the Zone Three Championship due to take place in Lome, Togo between October 21 and October 30 for a chance to qualify for the main African Club Championship.
Representatives from other West African countries including Nigeria, Niger and Ivory Coast will compete in the tournament but Ghana’s other representative Tema Youth will not be present due to financial shortcomings.
