Two of Ghana’s best basketball teams -Braves of Customs and Tema Youth- set to compete at the FIBA Zone Three Africa Championship slated for October 21 this month, will be in action on Thursday October 13 at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu, Accra for the semifinals of the country’s top rated league.

The tournament will take place at in Lome, Togo between October 21 and October 30 will have representatives from West African countries including Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Mali and Ivory Coast. Spots in the main African Club Championship are up for grabs. Angolan side Petro Atletico is the defending champion.

Braves and Tema earned places at the West African event after claiming the top two positions last season and with this season ending on Saturday October 15, both figure to be in good shape for the upcoming challenge.

Both sides are in contention to be crowned winner of the Accra Basketball League Men’s Division I as the semifinals of the postseason takes place. Defending champions Braves will play Reformers of Prisons as Tema Youth takes on Fire Service.

The duo repeated last season’s placement in 2016’s regular season with Braves winning all (nine) games and Tema following closely with seven wins.
