Ghana Navy and Dynamics will go at it again when the sides face on Wednesday October 11 at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu, Accra per reports gathered by Basketballghana.com.
The sides are set to face off in the 2016 Accra Basketball League Men’s Division I playoffs in a rescheduled game after rain interrupted proceedings on Saturday, October 8 at the same venue when the original game took place.
Early in the second quarter with Navy leading 8-5, light showers creased the court which rendered the surface very slippery and dangerous to play on. Referees on the night subsequently called off the game to avoid players sustaining injuries.
Before that, there was very little to choose between the sides as both struggled to create openings on the offensive ends of the floor. Dynamics fared better in having lee ways in and around Navy’s defense but couldn’t turn the chances into actual points.
On the defensive end, the much smaller DC side did a great job shutting down driving lanes for Navy’s bigs particularly 2016 Tertiary Most Valuable Player of the Year nominee David Asingar. Navy’s eight points came via shots far from the basket including a long jump shot from Shooting Guard Brew Smith.
Having lost on opening night, both will be keen on winning the game to stand a chance of competing for a final four spot. Dynamics lost 42-45 to Tema Youth as Navy lost 57-59 to Fire Service.
