St. John’s University Ghanaian recruit Bashir Ahmed has stated the best advice to him is to “work harder than every player on the court” in an interview with St. John’s Athletic Unit. He made the revelation during his session of the media session that featured players including Tariq Owens, Justin Simon and Shamorie Pond.
The third year Forward also revealed the best vacation he ever had was trip to Africa where he had the chance to see some family members including his mother who stays in Ghana saying “The best vacation I have ever been on is when I took a trip to Africa…I got the chance to spend some time with my mum and my family and that really meant a lot to me.”

Ahmed, who is 22, will suit up for the Red Storm this season after averaging 20.1 points, 8.1 rebounds and 2.2 assists for Hutchinson Community College in the NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) lower division.
He will be coached by NBA Hall of Fame inductees Chris Mullin and Mitch Richmond in the upcoming season.
