Chief organizer of the recently ended Peace Hoops 2016 Basketball Tournament has stated the competition has come to stay going further to say talks are far advanced on having the second edition in 2017.

The two time Ghana Basketball Awards Coach of the Year winner made the statement when speaking to Basketballghana.com after Asylum Down and Ridge defeated home side Galaxy from Tudu 41-28 in the final to win the tournament created to promote peace awareness ahead of Ghana’s election in December.

“Its’ come to stay we have even decided that after the elections we can have another tournament because peace is not for elections only. It is before, during and after so after the election too we will have another peace tournament” he said.

The competition which was sponsored by National Democratic Congress Candidate for the Klottey-Korle Constituency, Dr. Zanetor Agyemang-Rawlings, had seven teams drawn from communities in Ghana’s capital, Accra compete in the maiden edition.

Select sides from communities including Tema, Nima and Adabraka participated in the competition.

Agyemang-Rawlings was on hand to see Junior Reformers from Osu clinch third place after beating Teshie Rangers 32-30 and Novas from Nima win the under 12 competition.
