The Global Sporting Platforms (GSP) Basketball League’s second season will resume on October 1 at 8: 30 am with Suncity Braves taking on West Siders in the opening game.
After a lengthy break which enabled organizers to fix some teething problems especially finance, the league will makes a return and will feature teams from Ghana’s Brong-Ahafo regional capital, Sunyani.
The first day of the continuing season will have LIR take on Barracks Scorpions, Sunyani Polytechnic play Desert Rabbits and University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) play Catholic University College (Ghana) Saints.
A first ever All-Star event featuring teams from several spots in the country took place at the Eusbett Hotel over the weekend as a curtain raiser for the league’s resumption as Kumasi All Stars beat out the competition by winning all two games including a 52-34 win over UENR.
In the first round of games that took place on April 30, Desert Rabbits beat LIR 43-27, Barracks Scorpions defeated West Siders 36-29 and Catholic University College beat Sunayani Polytechnic 34-29.
Defending champions Sun City Braves earned a default win over UENR after the latter failed to show up for the game.
