Peace Hoops 2016 Basketball Tournament Day 3 has taken place at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu and for the first time since the competition began on Monday September 26, the natural elements turned brightly as all three games plus one prior incomplete game were completed.

Ridge took on Tema Youth in the opening game in a repeat Day One matchup that had to be called off due to persistent rain. Ridge went ahead to make light work of Tema’s challenge as the side easily won 55-38.

After winning its opening game against Novas from Nima, Teshie Rangers went into their tie against Junior Reformers from Osu in high spirits but those spirits were tamed by the deep Reformers who capitalized on the shorthanded Rangers side to win 56- 42.

Tema Youth was back on the court but showed very little fatigue in an engaging and exciting matchup against CYO from Adabraka who held a 29-24 third quarter lead with Guard Taufiq Mohammed converting two consecutive baskets.

However, Tema responded in similar fashion as three straight conversions from beyond the arc handed Tema its first win as the side beat CYO 46-39 before Ridge took on home side Galaxy and its vociferous fans in the final game of the day.

Despite having the likes of University of Ghana Guard Joel Tham and former High School Male Player of the Year Edwin Appiah in their ranks, the likes of Sulleyman Wahab, Bajigah Hassan and Salawudeen Halim ensured Galaxy maintain its unbeaten start to the tournament by winning 47-34.

Peace Hoops 2016 is the brainchild of National Democratic Congress Member of Parliament Aspirant for the Korle Klottey Constituency, Dr. Zanetor Agyemang-Rawlings.

Below is full wrap of results on Day 3:

Asylum Down and Ridge 55-38 Tema Youth
