Peace Hoops 2016 Basketball Tournament’s Day 4 will take place later today at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu in Ghana’s capital, Accra later today as exciting games involving the likes of Junior Reformers from Osu and Nima Novas will be honored.
However, DC Dynamics from Dansoman was scheduled to compete in the maiden edition of the tournament which aims to promote peace awareness in Ghanaian communities as the country prepares for national and parliamentary elections later this year.
The Dansoman side failed to show up for its matchup against Nima Novas yesterday at the venue. Members of the side and Coach Feranmi Olulonyo were present on the opening day but couldn’t play against Reformers as the tie couldn’t take place due to persistent rain.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Basketballghana.com, Olulonyo stated the reason behind his side’s failure to honor the rearranged matchup on Tuesday.
“Yesterday was not on the regular schedule so it was hard to adjust. Regardless, it always going to be hard to play in this tournament; A bunch of our guys have work and school. We really wanted to play but it’s not looking good” he said.
However, the side’s senior team, Basketbllghana.com gathers, will be ready for the Accra Basketball League Men’s Division I playoffs on Friday September 30 when they take on second seed Tema Youth.
