The Peace Hoops 2016 Basketball Tournament moves into the third day of competition with three games set to be played at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu, Accra. The program which runs from September 26 to October 1, has been organized to promote peace awareness among communities as Ghana prepares for national and parliamentary elections in December.
At 15: 00 GMT, Junior Reformers from Osu will take on Teshie Rangers in an exciting Day 3 opening game. Reformers will play in its first game of the tourney after DC Dynamics from Dansoman failed to show up for a Day 2 tie against the former. Rangers, on the other hand, will be looking for a second straight win in the competition after recording a 58-35 win over Novas from Nima.
After failing to impress in its first game, Novas will play Dynamics in the second matchup of the day with a touch of uncertainty as Dynamics failure to show up against Reformers leaves the tie up in the air. Ridge will play home side Galaxy in the final game on the day in a showdown between two sides who have shown flashes of brilliance in previous outings in the tourney.
Galaxy already has a 59-42 win under its belt and Ridge held a 34-29 lead over CYO before play was halted in the second half due to rain.
National Democratic Congress aspiring Member of Parliament for Korle Klottey Constituency, Dr Zanetor Agyemang-Rawlings is the brainchild of the competition.
