The maiden edition of the Tema Community Basketball League regular season has ended with a flurry of showpiece performances at the Community 4 Basketball Court.
Community 12 ended the season on a high note by beating Community 5 43-26 in the opening game and home side Community 4 edged past Community 2 with a 29-25 win in the follow up game.
With the win, Community 12 has booked a spot in the postseason along with Flash lights of Tema New Town from Group A as the two qualify as the top sides in the group after three games played in the season.
Community 4’s win had little impact on the standings in Group B as Ashaiman Lions and Nungua Coldstore had already secured spots in the postseason. However, the home side let it’s guard down after taking a 27-19 third quarter lead for Community 2 to reduce the deficit to four points with time running out.
The lack of offense in the final quarter was to be expected from Community 4 as backups filled spots on the court usually occupied by the likes of lead Point Guard Kent Fosu but did enough to see the win through.
A special tournament involving all seven teams in the league and Ghana Police Male Team will take place before the postseason begins.
