Community 12 and Nungua Coldstore enjoyed pleasant wins in the Tema Community Basketball League that took place at the Chinese Basketball Court in Community 4.
Community 12 recorded a 36-32 win over Flashlights of Tema New Town as Nungua Coldstore continued its winning ways by blitzing 56-32 past Community 2.
After suffering a painful 29-32 loss to Community 5 in the earlier round, Community 12 atoned for that loss by beating flashlights in a fairly engaging game that whetted the appetite of fans for what was to come later in the day.
Center Emmanuel Ocquaye was front and center on a six nothing run for Flashlights earlier in the second half as the game got tied at 31 before Community 12 finished strongly with time running out in the game.
The go ahead basket giving the side the four point lead was registered with 30 seconds left to play.
Nungua Coldstore are on a tear in the league and there is no stopping them as Community 2 can attest to after suffering a 36-52 demolition at the hands of Nungua.
The veteran side-coached by Albert Djan- got bossed around by the more athletic, stronger and clinical Nungua side.
The abilities mentioned above was encapsulated with a sequence that had Forward Kwame Boamah Djan blocking two straight shots with the second leading to a fastbreak layup. An emphatic dunk ended proceedings on the day.
