Braves of Customs Accra Basketball League Men’s Division I game against Teshie Rangers at Lebanon House Court in Tudu has been called off after referees failed to officiate the game.
The game was scheduled to follow Fire Service game against Tudu Magic in the opening game that Fire won 64-55. Despite the above mentioned game going on as planned, Braves long awaited game in the division was prolonged further after referees walked off the court with no intent to stick around.
The postponement marks the second straight week the unbeaten defending champions has had its game called off mainly due to referees. In the prior fixture against Fire Service, the men with the whistle acted same as they trotted off the court and off to their homes.
Reports gathered by Basketballghana.com has revealed several reasons behind the no show which varies from failure to pay referees, sabotage on the part of the men in the middle towards the efforts of Braves to Braves abandoning the game because it did not concur with officials on substitute referees be used for the tie.
After several postponements including rain induced call offs, the league is running well behind schedule and is yet to wrap up the regular season and get ready for the postseason. Braves has not featured in any league tie close to eight weeks.
