Select sides from Ghana’s Volta regional capital Ho and Greater Accra have recorded double wins in the ongoing After 7 Cowbell Fetu Afahy3 Basketball Tournament at the Cape-Coast Sports Stadium by beating After7 and Kumasi respectively.
Ho became the first team to record two wins in the tourney by beating After 7‘s veteran side 29-26 after winning its opening game. In surprising fashion, the younger Ho side failed to capitalize on a healthy first half lead to close out the game but bad defensive responsibilities allowed the older heads back in the game.
A deep three point shot brought life back into Ho’s offense and carried the renewed offensive spark to seal the win.
Accra took on Kumasi in a battle between Ghana’s big cities in a physical and intense game that had both sides commit multiple fouls. Accra looked rattled by Kumasi’s quick start but settled into their groove to tie the score at 15 heading to the second half.
Kumasi continued to miss from the charity stripe and chances around the basket to lose its first game of the tournament.
Ghana Police, Cape-Coast select side are among teams set to compete for laurels in this year’s basketball festivities.
