Recently crowned Female Most Valuable Player of the Year, Matilda Gordon has revealed she has ambitions of playing in the world’s premium basketball league; the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA).
The tall and soft spoken forward who was crowned the best player in Ghana at the 2016 Ghana Basketball Awards made the statement as she made an appearance on top rated basketball television show “Fast Break” as she answered questions from Host Yaw Sakyi Afari.
Gordon, who also walked away with the Tertiary Player of the Year award on the big night said, “After winning the MVP (Most Valuable Player) award, the next step for me is to play in the WNBA.”
She further indicated efforts had been made on her part to make the dream a reality as she has been in contact with Baylor University in the U.S. for a spot on the 2012 National Champions team.
Matilda recently scooped the Accra Basketball League title after her Braves of Customs side successfully defended its’ league trophy. Next up on the list of trophies open to be vanquished, is the Chairman’s Cup slated to be competed for the top four sides in the just ended season.
