Another win, another dominant display by Tudu Magic highlighted the latest round of games in the Accra Basketball League Men’s Division at the Lebanon House Court.
The home side bossed Teshie Rangers around to claim a 60-46 win after Navy all but condemned Holy Family to Division II with a 53-47 win.
Navy was rattled in the third quarter as Holy Family locked in on defense and got active in blocking passing lanes and contesting for rebounds with loads of gusto. In one instance, Captain James Offei blocked a shot, intercepted another pass before completing a three point play.
However, the intensity in defense dropped off in the final quarter and allowed Navy get back in the game with jumpers from big man Eric Adoko and a three point shot from Brew Smith. Having already sealed qualification to the post season, Navy rested key players for the game including Richard Tetteh and David Asingar.
Tudu Magic prevailed in a highly physical and intense game over Teshie Rangers with several members of the roster contributing their quota to a sixth win in seven games for the season. Steven Foster, Ekow Amoako was omnipresent in the offense as Evans Nuamah and Shadrack Nii Koi contributed off the bench.
The game’s intensity called referees into action repeatedly as tempers titled towards flaring out of control. Rangers Center Emmanuel Ocquaye fouled out of the game in the fourth quarter as the side pushed to catch up with Magic.
Braves of Customs matchup against Fire Service was called off due to communication lapses between league administrators and referees.
