Two teams fighting for survival in the Accra Basketball League Men’s Division I will be in action later today at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu, Accra as Holy Family takes on Navy in the first of three games scheduled for the round.
Fellow strugglers Teshie Rangers have a herculean task at hand when they take on home side Tudu Magic and defending champions and division leaders Braves of Customs play Fire Service.
After starting its’ debut season in strong fashion, Rangers form that had the side win two of three games in the early parts of the season, fizzle out. In surprising fashion, the team is battling to stay in the division after going winless since the early burst. Magic on the other hand need a win to have a better seed for the upcoming playoffs.
Like Rangers, Fire Service started out in brilliant fashion by winning three straight games to start the season but have registered three straight losses leave the side perilously close to the last three spots in the standings. However, their lot doesn’t get better with a matchup against Braves signaling the possibility of a fourth consecutive loss.
Navy’s 58-56 overtime win over Air Force sealed the side’s spot in the division but facing a Holy Family side with just a win to show for all season, the side will be fancied to register a win.
