The 2016 High School and College Draft has ended amid a great tidal wave of praise as some of Ghana’s talented basketball players have been selected by top educational institutions in the country for scholarships.
Players from many parts of the country converged at the University of Ghana basketball court between August 22 and August 25 where they underwent rigorous training sessions and basketball drills.
Marshalls University College, Accra Polytechnic, University of Cape-Coast among others selected players in the tertiary round as Pope John, Aggrey Memorial, Accra Academy did same at the high school level.
The technical team led by DC Dynamics Coach Feranmi Olulonyo and Ghana Basketball Association General Secretary Rafiq Arthur, evaluated the players before pruning down the number prior to the main selection.
Program organizers Rite Sports Limited completed what was scheduled to be a five day event in order to fast track the process of getting selected players registered in time for the start of the academic year.
The maiden edition has been commended by a long list of notable personalities in Ghana including University of Ghana Sports Director Dr. Bella Bello Bitugu as an innovative and well thought process of educating basketball players in the West African country.
