Day two of the High Schools and Colleges Draft taking place at the University of Ghana basketball court will be marked by an eviction process where some participants will be left out of the running to earn educational scholarships to top institutions in Ghana.
The program introduced by leading Ghanaian sports management firm Rite Sports Limited, began on Monday August 22 with hundreds of prospective student athletes registering before being taken through a grueling series of drills.
After double sessions for two straight days, the number of participants will be pruned down in the first phase of selecting players for enrollment to high schools including 2016 Ghana Basketball Awards Male Team of the Year St. Augustine’s College, four time Sprite Ball Champions Mfantsipim School, Pope John High School among others.
All Africa University Games Basketball Champions University of Ghana, University of Cape-Coast among others are primed to select some of Ghana’s best and talented players.
The Draft is viewed as a necessary tool to aid teams replenish their roster after regulars graduated earlier this year.
