The first day of the 2016 High School and College Draft has been given an “okay” by draft official Jaffar Adnan which had players from all parts of the country converge at the University of Ghana basketball court for a chance to earn scholarships to top Ghanaian educational institutions.
The innovative Rite Sports Limited program will give educational scholarships to talented Ghanaian basketball players who impress in a week long training program. Speaking in an interview with Basketballghana.com, Adnan who is also associated with Accra Basketball League outfit Fire Service said:
“The whole thing was okay just that the players were having some lapses you know most of them don’t have the basic. Basketball goes with the basics. If you have the fundamentals from the coach, your play becomes good but all the same it was a nice and good test”.
Prospective student athletes stand a chance of gaining admission to St. Augustine’s College, Mfantsipim School, Pope John High School among others at the High School level and University of Ghana, Marshalls University College, University of Cape-Coast among others for the Tertiary level.
