Adenta Leopards have gained promotion to Accra Basketball League’s Men’s Division I by going unbeaten in eight games. The Adenta side will be joined in the upper division by Tema Youth junior side who finished second behind Leopards with 12 points. Leopards boasting a stellar cast of 2016 Ghana Basketball Awards Tertiary Player of the Year Maxwell Mod, 2016 Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Most Valuable Player Muhaimin Guba and Emmanuel Wolff, Leopards run the division ragged with a mix of top notch marksmanship and relentless attention to detail on defense.
Notable players who make the side a tough nut to crack include David Pinto, Charles Annan, Bajiga Mohammed and Godwin Tetteh. Reigning Coach of the Year Meme Falconer mans the sidelines.
Leopards close rivals in the first round Junior Reformers of Prisons’ form plummeted in the second round leaving the side in fourth place after suffering four straight losses including the unforgettable 61-63 loss to an undermanned Tema Youth side.
