Brands Manager of leading Diary product Cowbell, Joseph Ashong, has indicated his outfit is likely to commit more to developing basketball in Ghana.
He made the indication in an interview with Basketball in the aftermath of the first ever Cowbell Basketball Clinic which took place at the premise of the Lebanon House Court in Accra.
The program was organized to educate and reeducate players, coaches and administrators about games rules and other aspects of playing the right way. Dignitaries including Ghana Basketball Association Vice Chairman Iddi Agambire and 2015 Coach of the Year Lawal Brimah spoke at the event.
“Its an opportunity; yes we wouldn’t hesitate to jump on it (future basketball championships) once it falls into where we have defined our role to be, that is helping the players to understand what the game is all about…Yes we have plans of getting into the real game itself in future”.
He also noted the company’s major commitment to the Fetu Afahy3 Festival Basketball Tournament slated to take place in Cape-Coast between September 2 and September 4. The tournament is played as part of activities to celebrate the Fetu Afahy3 Festival of natives in Ghana’s Central regional capital.
