According to Cowbell Brands Manager Joseph Ashong, it is imperative for players to understand the game they are playing in order to be better players.
He made the statement in an interview with Basketballghana.com after the maiden edition of the Cowbell Basketball Clinic took place at the Lebanon House Court Yard in Accra.
The program was organized to refresh players knowledge on game rules and certain key aspects of developing their game. Other stakeholders including coaches and administrators of some Accra Basketball League outfits were present at the event to share their thoughts.
Ashong reiterated the need for players to be reeducated on rules governing the game. He said:
“Its important players understand the game they are playing. It’s really important that they also know what the courts demands and it doesn’t demand because to be a better player you must understand how the officials judging on the court are thinking and what you (the player) are thinking. So if there is an agreement, there is always peace”.
He also confirmed Cowbell’s commitment to developing basketball in Ghana.
The After 7 Basketball event comes at a crucial juncture in the calendar as the Accra Basketball League winds down to the postseason and in time for the upcoming “Afahy3” Basketball Tourney which takes place between September 2 and September 4 during Cape-Coast’s Fetu Afahy3 Festival.
