Accra Basketball League Men’s Division II leaders Adenta Leopards extended its’ winning run for the season by edging Galaxy 36-32 as CYO beat Junior Reformers of Prisons 56-53 over the weekend.
The Adenta based side has been in dominant fashion this season and they showed just enough of that rich form to earn the win.
Despite playing without recently crowned Coach of the Year Meme Falconer, Leopards maintained its superior lead over the rest of the field with the win.
Basketballghana.com can confirm Falconer, who was conspicuously missing from the 2016 Ghana Basketball Awards, was at the Lincoln Community School as part of a Ghanaian coaching contingent participating in the Masai Ujiri founded Giants of Africa program.
On the other hand, CYO’s failure to turn leads into wins in recent games had caused the side to slip down the standings. However, the athletic side managed to get a win over fellow strugglers Reformers with a three point differential that halts CYO’S two game losing streak.
After ending the first round with a single loss on its record, Reformers, in light of its latest defeat, is winless in the second round having lost to Leopards, Tema Youth and Galaxy in prior games.
