Adenta Leopards and Junior Reformers of Prisons provided arguably the best game of the Accra Basketball League Men’s Division II when the sides crossed paths in the first round of the season.
Later today at the Lebanon House Court, the sides will renew hostilities as they face each other again with a lot at stake; the matchup will precede Tema Youth’s game against CYO.
A win for Adenta will confirm the side’s promotion to Division I and that looks perfectly feasible considering Reformers head into the game without sharp shooter Ashietey Ollenu who is out with an injury.
However, Leopards will be at full strength with the likes of Emmanuel Wolff, Muhaimin Guba, David Pinto and Edwin Appiah set to feature.
The side also has 2016 Ghana Basketball Awards nominees Maxwell Mod and Coach Meme Falconer. Mod has been nominated in the Tertiary Player of the Year and Most Valuable Player of the Year categories respectively.
Falconer on the other hand is in the Coach of the Year category alongside James Okine and Lawal Brimah. The Awards will take place at the Best Western Premier Hotel on August 12.
Should Tema Youth beat the uber athletic CYO and Reformers lose to Leopards, Tema will be in pole position to join Adenta in getting promoted to the elite division. The side has been on a roll in the second round winning consecutive games against Reformers and Galaxy.
