Accra Basketball League Men’s Division II leaders and unbeaten side Adenta Leopards are on track to making a triumphant entry into the upper tier of the Men’s Division. Having dispatched boogey side Tema Youth 68-46 in the last round of games, Leopards have all but sealed a spot in next year’s Division I season.
Adenta leads all teams after accruing maximum points from six games played thus far in the season with nearest challengers Junior Reformers two points back and have played a game more than Leopards.
The path has been made easier for the Adenta based side as close rivals Junior Reformers of Prisons have been in a slump in recent weeks. Reformers lost 43-56 to Galaxy over the weekend and lost surprisingly to Tema Youth in the week prior with Tema playing the final minutes undermanned.
Leopards has an impressive collection of talents with the likes of Charles Annan University of Ghana duo Muhaimin Guba and Emmanuel Wolff and 2015 Ghana Basketball Awards High School Male Player of the Year Edwin Appiah.
Here is how Adenta leads the field in Division II:
