Former NBA All-Star Carlos Boozer plans to resurrect his career in China this season after taking the 2015-16 season off, according to league sources.
Sources said Boozer, 34, is nearing agreement on a deal to launch his comeback with China’s Guangdong Southern Tigers.
Because the Chinese season typically ends in February or March, Boozer should have the opportunity to sign with an NBA contender for the stretch run next year should he play well abroad.
Boozer, a two-time All-Star, did some TV work last season while also trying to keep himself physically ready for a return to the court.
Boozer’s talks with Guangdong were first reported Sunday by international basketball expert David Pick of Israel.
