League leaders Braves of Customs will be heavily favored to extend their lead atop the Accra Basketball League (ABL) Women’s Division as they play Fire Service later today at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu, Accra.
The game which is scheduled to tip off at 16:00 GMT, will be followed by Galaxy’s matchup with Reformers of Prisons. Braves head into the game with a two point and healthy goal difference lead over close rivals Air Force in the standings.
The defending champions are yet to lose a game this season and will feature 2016 Ghana Basketball Awards nominees Berlinda Boateng and Matilda Gordon against an opponent that has mustered just a win all season.
Female Most Valuable Player of the Year nominee Carlyn Adjei, is expected to be the focal point of Fire Service attack.
Reformers and Galaxy will be in battle to usurp Air Force in second place as the latter will not be in action and both sides trailing a point behind respectively. Consecutive wins for Reformers has thrust the team into a much feared side in the past weeks whereas Galaxy has vacillated in inconsistent showings.
Bottom ranked Navy who remain without a win for the season, will not be in action.
