Aggrey Memorial Mount Zion Basketball Coach Alfred Davis has picked Joana Danso to be named High School Female Player of the Year ahead of teammate Juliana Cudjoe at the upcoming Basketball Awards.
The 2016 Ghana Basketball Awards will take place at the Best Western Premier Hotel in Accra on August 12.
In an exclusive interview with Basketballghana.com, Davis, picked the creative genius Danso over the sleek ball handler Cudjoe to win the most coveted prize at the High School level.
“When it comes to the two of them (Cudjoe and Danso) is very easy for me to take my best out of the two and it will not be a problem for me or them that Joana takes it all” he said.
Both players were instrumental in ending Aggrey Memorial’s three years wait for a title despite being in the finals of the Sprite Ball Championship in as many years following a remarkable comeback to beat debutants Accra Wesley Girls High School to the title.
Cudjoe, emerged the Most Valuable Player of the Tournament and will be highly tipped to crown a wonderful year by winning in August. Both players have been shortlisted for the High School Player of the Year category alongside Maamata Yusif of Accra Wesley Girls.
