2nd meets 4th, 7th meets 8th as close matchups dominate fixtures in ABL

Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division I fixtures will be honored later today at the Prisons Court in Cantonment with a mound of exciting lineups as DC Dynamics takes on Fire Service at 16:00 GMT. The close matchup will be followed by Tema Youth’s duel with Teshie Rangers and Navy’s game against Air Force.

As all sides head into the round with winning as their mantra, a close affinity in the standings between the teams is a major subplot that runs through the fixtures. With exception of bottom ranked Air Force’s tie against Navy, the two fixtures on the day have teams closely spotted in the standings take on each other.

In the first matchup, seventh placed DC Dynamics takes on eight placed Fire Service. Dynamics are still riding on an exciting 63-56 overtime win over Navy in the last round rallying from a four point deficit in the final minutes to pull through.

Fire’s perfect record of three wins from three games belies its position in the standings. The side sits a step below Dynamics in seventh place having played two games less than the Dansoman side.

Tema’s matchup with Teshie means the second best team in the league will play the fourth best. Both sides go into the game on the back off intense close losses to Braves of Customs and Reformers of Prisons respectively.

The non stop action packed plays from both sides pits this affair as one to lookout for.
