Aggrey Memorial Mount Zion Basketball Coach Alfred Davis has waded into the conversation for the upcoming 2016 Ghana Basketball Awards which takes places at the Best Western Premier Hotel in Accra on August 12.
Davis stated in an exclusive interview from his base in Cape-Coast, High School Female Player of the Year nominees Juliana Cudjoe and Joana Danso both of Aggrey Memorial, have what it takes to win the award.
“My thoughts are very simple because they both deserve it. For them being in the finals for three straight times and also for winning the Championship (Sprite Ball) too” he said when asked to rate their chances of scooping the prestigious award.
Both ladies were instrumental for Aggrey as the beat debutants Accra Wesley Girls High School 9-8 to win the school’s second Sprite Ball Championship title. The win marked an end to a run of three straight defeats in the finals for the Central regional power house.
Cudjoe was subsequently adjudged the Most Valuable Player of the tournament. Since graduating earlier this year, the Guard has been playing in the Accra Basketball League for Reformers of Prisons.
Danso on the other hand, will feature in the category for a second consecutive year.
