Valley View University Female Basketball Coach Bright Otu-Masi has showered praise on 2016 Ghana Basketball Awards nominee Oseeni Mahmoudath.
The burly Center was nominated in the ultra competitive Female Tertiary Player of the Year category alongside Yayra Kluiboto of University of Cape-Coast and Matilda Gordon of Accra Polytechnic.
The Awards will take place on August 12 at the Best Western Premier Hotel in Ghana’s capital, Accra.
Speaking to Basketballgahana.com, Masi, who doubles as a shooting Guard for the institution’s male side was confident Osseni’s outstanding qualities will win her the award. He enumerated some qualities stating, “She knows where to be on the court at anytime and is a very strong Center”.
Osseni was influential in Valley View’s shock win over Islamic University College to win the Private Universities Sports Association Games (PUSAG) earlier this year. She was awarded Most Valuable Player of the tournament following her standout exploits.
Her nomination in the category makes Osseni the sole representative from Valley View University in this year’s awards. The male team competed in the Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship quarter finals after winning two three games in Zone F.
However, it lost all three quarter final games in embarrassing circumstances.
