Fans of home side Tudu Magic will have to wait a while to see their side play Fire Service in the latest round of games in the Accra Basketball League (ABL) games due to take place later today at the Lebanon House Court in Accra.
Magic’s game will be preceded by two tantalizing matchups as Navy takes on DC Dynamics and Team Youth battles Braves of Customs in a top of the table clash.
A shock loss to Navy on the first day of the season separates Navy from Braves’ unblemished record. The Tema-based side has since looked in supreme form as they stormed up the standings to place second with nine points; a point shy of Braves season’s haul.
Braves looked exasperated at some point in their game against Dynamics but it’s immense depth and experience proved valuable once again to secure a win.
League bottom feeders DC Dynamics will move up the standings should it record a necessary win over Navy. Dynamics looked impressive for long stretches of the third and fourth quarters against defending champions Braves but were undone by the excellent Paul Gomerli.
The veteran Point Guard created spaces for his teammates to exploit ultimately leading to a win.
Until recently, Magic was an inconsistent, chaotic team bereft of directions on offense. In two games played since that wretched run, the team has transformed into a well drilled side capable of beating just about any side in the division.
Adding new faces to the roster including Point Guard Ekow Amoako, certainly helped in this regard as Magic plays better with the ball in Amoako’s hand. Magic will have its’ hands full against a Fire Service side that is yet to lose a game and will be without star Small Forward Farahat Tamimu.
The latter is serving a two game suspension for getting ejected against Teshie Rangers.
